Do it if you're bad / more on liminal magic
Hello everyone,
Oscar Wilde used to say he believed in "art for art's sake" - similarly, liminal magic is "magic for magic's sake"...
- in other words, liminal magic is magic done not necessarily to secure a practical result but rather just to amplify one's experience of the strange interconnection of your "internal" and "external" worlds...
... generating a condition that I like to call High Weirdness.
High Weirdness tends to include:
- pre-cognitive dreams
- deep recognition and connection with other magic people who pop up in your life
- wild & beautiful twists and turns to the plot of your story
To cultivate High Weirdness in DARE, we take the concepts I teach in my books & courses on Existential Kink, nonduality, anima mundi, the dreaming of the dream... and we apply amplifiers.
High Weirdness is what many of us most hunger for, and doing practical magic tends to just whet our appetite ;)
The word "liminal" comes from the Latin word meaning "in the doorway."
Liminal magic is magic that deals with the "in between" spaces -
In between worlds
In between coming and going
In between sacred and profane
In between waking and dreaming
In between conscious and unconscious
In between time and no-time

P.S. DARE was originally written just for people who had already completed my INFLUENCE course -- primarily because INFLUENCE taught Existential Kink when it wasn’t available anywhere else. Now that there's an Existential Kink book out, anyone can use the other elements of DARE to build on the fundamentals of planetary magick.
