Because that's where Mystery initiation happens:

Consider:
History shows us that Christianity started out as a small, outlaw group of people practicing secret sacramental initiation into the mysteries of life and love as exemplified by the great magickian Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Now we call Christianity "a religion" and not "a cult" & consider it a respectable, safe, perfectly decent thing to be involved in....
.... but Christianity got to be "a respectable religion" by allying with the imperial Roman forces and stamping out all the other competing Mystery Cults around the Mediterranean as best it could.
There's nothing inherently respectable or safe about a spiritual group burgeoning into "a religion" rather than remaining a small cultus.
The burgeoning from cult-to-religion usually happens through a ton of warfare, and this process of military-enforced-conversion greatly dilutes and distorts the original initiatory power of the cult.
Throughout time humans have come into embodied gnosis of their divine immortality and magick via relatively small Mystery Cults.
All "culture" comes from cultus.
Do you think it's a coincidence that mainstream media has pounded the idea that all cults are scary evil brainwashing schemes?
No, it ain't. I'll tell you why.
The mainstream corporatist media is itself the entrancing mechanism of a non-culture dedicated to preventing people from experiencing initiation.
Initiation into the Mysteries brings sovereignty and power-from-within that comes from heartfelt knowledge of immortality.
Think about how impossible it would be even for the strongest police or military to corral a whole society of people who had zero fear of death and genuine felt connection to divine love.
It's waaaaaaay easier to get people to buy junk and to be placidly controlled...
...when people are disenchanted, lonely for real meaning and connection, and terrified of death and loss.
So fuck yeah, Sleep Over Mystery School is a cult, one that comes complete with epic ritual and lingo and shared depth of meaning and style.
And also we're waaaaaaaay too lazy and waaaaaaaaaay too turned on by self-sovereignty, and waaaaaaaaaaay too busy enjoying our own lives...
... to ever try to control people in what the mainstream calls "a cult-like fashion."
