Back in the heady days of 2012, I had the good luck of falling in with a bunch of people in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who held Gift Circles.

Shout out to my friend Kevin May who initiated it all, inspired by this article from Charles Eisenstein.

What's a Gift Circle?

It's a gathering where everyone goes around in a circle and states what they would like to receive (from the probable and practical to the far-out and dreamy)...

.... and then states what they would like to give (anything from book collections to astrology readings to just deep listening)...

.... and then in subsequent rounds folks make connections, they say stuff like:

"Yes, I'd love to take that book collection -- and yes, I'd love to give you that astrology reading!" ...

... and then folks who've linked up exchange contact information, and later on, they exchange the gifts.

Of course getting together for in-person gatherings during this pandemic is tricky, but Gift Circles can also be done virtually, on Zoom.

Gift Circles offer deep medicine for feelings of isolation and boredom.

I recommend you round up some friends and give it a go, it's not only a heart-warming activity, it's deeply pragmatic.

My next far-out dreamy wish: a surreal Italian villa, please

Gift Circles provide an amazing way for people go beyond surface niceties and actually support each other in their genuine hungers and deepest purpose.

Furthermore, every so often, someone's "wild, far-out, improbable" thing that they would like to receive... like:

"I really want to go on a trip to Southeast Asia..."

... gets met by somebody else!

"Actually, I've been looking for someone to travel with, I have this place to stay in Thailand, and I have all these extra airline miles so I could buy my travel companion a ticket....."

... and thus dreams can literally come true through Gift Circles.

I met my husband Taia at a Gift Circle, along with many of my best friends. Major dreams realized, right there. :)

So when Taia and I set out to found WEALTH, a virtual community of leaders designed to be the foundation for a thousand-year magical renaissance around the globe....

... I knew Gift Circles needed to be a part of it.

So now, in WEALTH, we have over 40 virtual Gift Circles a month, held by trained volunteer facilitators, and magical leaders are sharing their astounding talents and generosity with their counterparts all over the world.

This makes me so happy - because I've been a part of plenty of online communities that were just talk talk talk in forums...

... WEALTH is so so much more than just talk -- it's brilliant, delightful people actually feeling, receiving, helping and celebrating each other.
I love this not only because it's such a great antidote to the loneliness of pandemic times...

... but also because in my experience, true growth and transformation happens fastest in alchemical community....

... when we're seen and met by people who are willing to honor the whole spectrum of our being, from our sexuality to our anger to our tenderness to our genius....

P.S. WEALTH opens for application again in September. The cost is $99 a month, with an initial 12- month commitment.
