what happens when desire transforms you?
Many of us have been taught to suppress desire in order to be socially acceptable.
Furthermore, we've gotten the message from mainstream religions and our own disappointments in life that following desire leads to suffering.
And this is true enough when our desire is small, stuffed down, kept immature.
In this state we can end up feeling stuck and bored in life, simultaneously over-stuffed and also soul-hungry and stressed amid a hundred luxuries...
.... meanwhile feeling unseen, unfelt, rejected -- on a perpetual wheel of striving to be "good enough" --
... and somehow still no matter how much we do we're "less than, wrong, lazy, bad" according to our internal critic and seemingly to the world around us.
In my work I help people find another relationship to desire that ends this problem of boredom, stuckness, not-good-enough-ness.
How? By showing how to let our desire be as BIG as it truly is --
Vast, endless Eros for life - falling in love with every (gross, "bad") part of ourselves, with life and death themselves....
... so that instead of being a mean trick that leads us to disappointment, our desire becomes a potent magickal tool...
... one that catapults us into an expansion wherein we become far more than we ever previously imagined ourselves to be...
... and thereby find the kind of invincible love that doesn't wither in the face of resentment but instead burns hotter, brighter, weirder.
This is the alchemical approach.
We learn to let our Desire transform us at a fundamental level -- and as we transform, so does our experience of the world.
What if your wanting for more money, power, sex, love...
... wasn't a trap, and wasn't just a barrier to overcome on your way to being "good-enough' --
... but was actually itself a Fire that when flamed could burn up everything false in your psyche and leave you vast, open, inspired?
Today I invite you to set aside some time to enflame your desire.
Choose something to focus on that evokes your lust and longing (literally anything or anyone) and simply experiment with tuning into the feeling of desire as a joy and a power in-and-of-itself...
... with no grasping demand that you "get the thing," with no focus on "how much I suck" for not-already-having-the-thing.
Just feeling the desire and letting it flame.
